Dr. Mira's Hard-Earned Handy Life, Creating, and Business Tips:

If you struggle with saving receipts for your kidlit business and use Gmail (even if you aren't published yet), with a *quickie disclaimer that I'm not an accountant or CPA, create a label with the + symbol on the left column of your Gmail that says something like 2025 KidLit Biz and save your book purchases, research travel receipts, courses and conferences in the left of that area. Then when it's time to do your takes, just go to that label/folder and find all your receipts.

If you're a faster thinker than you are a typist, use the microphone icon in a gmail email to yourself, Scrivener, or Microsoft Word doc (under Tools) and dictate your manuscript or ideas to yourself. This is a big part of how I get so much done.
